CHEMCON 2026, the 79th Annual Session of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), will
be hosted in Mumbai, India’s city of dreams and industrial powerhouse. A global hub for chemicals,
manufacturing, finance, and technology, Mumbai represents scale, speed, and execution. The
congress will unite India’s leading minds and global experts to advance chemical engineering’s role
in building a Viksit Bharat.
At a time of rapid technological change and sustainability transition, CHEMCON 2026 will drive
focused dialogue on research, industry solutions, and policy pathways that shape a future-ready
India.
The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) is the country’s leading professional body
for
chemical engineers, bringing together industry experts, academicians, researchers and students to
advance the science and practice of chemical engineering. Established in 1947, IIChE operates
through a wide network of regional centers and student chapters and plays a key role in fostering
innovation, sustainability and professional excellence.
Through conferences, technical publications and strong industry–academia engagement, IIChE
promotes knowledge exchange, skill development & national progress.
Established in 1933 as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT), the Institute of
Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai is one of India’s most eminent institutions in chemical
science
and engineering. Recognized as a Deemed-to-be University in 2008, ICT has consistently
demonstrated excellence in education, research, industrial collaboration, and technology
commercialization across chemical engineering, and allied disciplines. Awarded Elite Status and
Centre of Excellence by the Government of Maharashtra and accredited with NAAC A++ rating, ICT
is globally acknowledged for developing impactful technologies adopted by industry in areas such
as clean energy, waste-to-value systems, biofuels, water treatment, and sustainable process
technologies.
At a time of rapid technological change and sustainability transition, CHEMCON 2026 will drive
focused dialogue on research, industry solutions, and policy pathways that shape a future-ready
India.
Established over six decades ago, the Mumbai Regional Centre of IIChE has evolved alongside Mumbai, a city that has historically shaped India's industrial, financial and technological trajectory.
As the largest regional centre in the country, representing nearly 13.3% of IIChE's national membership, MRC continues to lead nationally significant technical forums and conferences.
Shri Dhirubhai Commemoration Day will be celebrated on December 28, 2026, as a tribute to the visionary industrialist Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of Reliance Industries Ltd.
The celebration recognizes his extraordinary contribution towards India's industrial development and entrepreneurial excellence.
IIChE CHEMCON 2026 will cover major themes relevant to chemical engineering and allied
disciplines through plenary lectures, invited talks, and oral and poster presentation sessions. All
technical sessions will be chaired by eminent experts from the respective fields. Detailed guidelines
for abstract submission and full paper preparation will be available on the official conference
website.
The proposed technical sessions include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Advanced Reaction Engineering and Catalysis
AI and Digital Transformation in Chemical Engineering
Biochemical, Agrochemical, and Food Process Engineering
Chemical Engineering for Industrial and Manufacturing Transformation
Energy, Environmental, and Wastewater Engineering
